“The remarkable Indonesian and world-record breaking artist, Arya Trimni Putra is originally from Surabaya, East Java where he nurtured a successful career as a Psychologist. In 2001, Arya lost his mother and wife, and this devastating period changed the course of his life.” Overwhelmed with grief, friends presented Arya with blank canvases and encouraged him to paint as a way of expressing the rawness of his emotions. Unexpectedly, Arya’s creations impressed many. Encouraged and excited, Arya chose to become a full-time artist with a commitment of giving back to the community. In early 2019, Arya completed the phenomenal feat of painting 1,000 abstract paintings in a period of 30 days, a record that is documented by the Indonesian World’s Records Museum (MURI). “Celebra...

Arriving at Phnom Penh Airport in the morning I am greeted with a story to write in almost every direction. Once again I am lost in that magic spell that always brings me back to traveling and the endless search for places as strange and secluded as possible. Why Cambodia? There is, of course, only one answer - Angkor Wat; a cluster of temples hidden within hectares of Cambodia’s forests and one of the largest religious monuments in the world. Angkor Wat was inaugurated as a UNESCO Before setting out to Angkor Wat I thought I’d see some of Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh and, to kill some time, I took a short walk around the city. I found it quite clean though rather dusty and the traffic is no less chaotic than back home in Indonesia. I was fascinated by the spirit houses; a form a...

Socio Travelling, On 5 August 2018 Lombok was shaken by a 6,5 M earthquake which destro yed 10,062 houses leaving many residents homeless . Even though aid has been coming from all across Indonesia , fair distribution of this assistance has been difficult as most of the aid has only been available from a few Help Centres . As a result, a newly created socially based community named Moklet Bali was inspired to send aid directly to a few selected locations in most urgent need. Moklet Bali held a number of fundraising events such as; selling second-hand items, t-shirts, refilled water bottles and so on. “SocioTravelling” is the organisation’s newest program in which people can carry out social activities to assist the most needy locations while travelling, this promotes new tourism places ...

He took up photography after graduating from college in Singaraja. At first it was merely a hobby and for fun. His main passion, however, has always been in people and their culture and his works reflect these aspects of his subjects. Over the years he has participated in a number of exhibitions, such as the Buleleng Festival and the Sanur Village Festival and one of his works was included in an exhibition at the Belgium embassy with the Stylus Photography Community. Each and every photograph he displays has a m...
