Aman’s Iconic Pools: Where Design and Tranquillity Meet

Since it was founded more than 30 years ago, Aman has pioneered a new kind of hospitality through the creation of expansive spaces that offer incomparable privacy, tranquillity and ease. Across Asia, from the jungles of Bali to the palaces of Rajasthan, each Aman property reflects this ethos through thoughtful design and a strong sense of place. Among the brand’s most admired features are its pools, serene, architectural statements that flow naturally into their surroundings. Whether suspended above rice fields, flanked by ancient temples, or nestled in a quiet city garden, these pools are more than just places to swim—they’re integral to the Aman experience. Here, we feature some of Aman’s most captivating pools across Indonesia, Thailand, and India.

Amankila, Indonesia

Set on a lush hillside beneath sacred Mount Agung, Amankila gazes across the Lombok Strait from a prime position above the sweeping curve of Amuk Bay. The resort’s iconic three-tiered infinity pool cascades down the hillside, its aqua-marine tiles mirroring the verdant green rice terrace of Bali below. Many of the resort’s suites also offer their own private pools for afternoons spent admiring serene sea views.

Amandari, Indonesia
Designed after a traditional Indonesian village on the verdant lip of the Ayung River Gorge, Amandari rests close to the artistic centre of Ubud, inviting exploration of Bali’s cultural heart. When not exploring the region’s riches, guests can find peace around the central infinity swimming pool, which curves around the edge of the resort, mimicking the cascading rice paddies that lie below. Enveloped by nature, its emerald waters blend into the flora and fauna of its backdrop, offering views of endless green horizons and across Bali’s most characteristic rural landscapes.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, Thailand

Rising from the leafy surrounds of the historic Nai Lert Park, Aman’s newest urban sanctuary follows in the footsteps of its original ancestor, Amanpuri, bringing the brand full circle in its birthplace of Thailand. Renowned as vertical retreats, Aman’s city hotels bring all the hallmarks of a peaceful Aman resort to the world’s finest cities. With views of the park’s tropical foliage from every aspect, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok’s serene 25-metre pool offers a rare outdoor escape, far removed from the capital’s rhythm. With views of the skyline on the horizon, guests can hop from the pool to hydrotherapy facilities with effortless ease, allowing the stresses of city life to seamlessly melt away.

Amanpuri, Thailand
Set on its own private peninsula on Phuket’s peaceful west coast, Aman’s first resort, Amanpuri serves as a blueprint for Aman’s revered design, hospitality and inimitable spirit. At its heart lies a glassy, 27- metre black-tiled pool that stretches out towards to Andaman Sea, serving as the resort’s spellbinding centrepiece. Framed on either side by swaying coconut palms and the resort’s distinctive Thai-inspired pavilions, it rests still and peaceful, inviting long afternoons of relaxation in the dappled shade.

Amanbagh, India

Set in Rajasthan’s rural heartland, Amanbagh is a palatial retreat among the palm and eucalyptus trees at the foothills of the Aravalli Range. At its centre, a tranquil 33-metre pool shimmers in soft hues of green quartzite. Surrounded by Mughal-inspired domes and colonnades, it offers a serene oasis steeped in rural stillness and regal splendour.
