Republik 45 is a spectacular new Indonesian Restaurant recently opened in the heart of Seminyak, Bali. The food concept here is purely dedicated to authentic Indonesian fair, providing the customer with a true taste of the region’s finest dishes, made with traditional ingredients, recipes and cooking methods.

The restaurant offers an exquisite design with a strong lean towards an urban, semi-industrial workspace. The décor is split between natural tones of teak and rubber wood, with stone, steel and marble punctuating the structure. An immense vertical garden balances the ambience and runs the full length of the restaurant, both in-door and out. Local antique decorations are set amidst designer installations, providing a truly unique and engaging location.

The food itself is a pleasure to behold. The range of dishes and style of presentation gives any diner a sense of warmth, satisfaction and comfort. The menu ranges from light to bold, with a selection of set menus, a la carte dining and chef’s suggestions. The service matches the food perfectly, providing international standards of attention, with a stylish, yet easy going attitude.

Our dinner experience consisted of Pangsit Bebek (crisp wonton cases with shredded duck and pickled vegetables), Udang Balado (char-grilled Tiger Prawns in a rich chili tomato emulsion) and Bebek Goreng Bali (a traditional succulent and crispy duck dish), which proved to be the perfect balance of contrast, weight and flavor. Beverage pairing for the meal was made with a selection of bespoke cocktails, which are readily available to match any menu. We then finished the night with a house favorite, Dadar Unti – an Indonesian Coconut and Pandan Crepe, filled with caramelized palm sugar.
