For those who may question ‘glamping’it should be pointed out that this is neither a Balinese nor Indonesian word. It is in fact two abbreviated English words – glamorous and camping put together to indicate ‘glamorous camping’. Sandat Glamping is a luxurious accommodation complex composed of stylish shelters that provide the experience of nature camping under 5 star conditions.

Situated in Ubud, Sandat Glamping is made up of 5 luxury tents and 3 Lumbung (traditional buildings made of wood and local straw); each boasts its own Italian designer decor.

Conditions for personal comfort in Sandat Glamping’s tents is of the highest luxury quality in the great interior living space provided. Set in private gardens overlooking coconut palms, the tents come with all the modern amenities of all 5 star hotels. These range from mini-fridge, air-con, WIFI and an iPod dock, with stylish lava bathroom and a shared infinity pool area. Each tent is designed to be uniquely individual from the others.

The Tenda Penjor Suite ‘Brown’ unit, is an over-the-top luxurious lodging with a bathroom complete with chandelier, Venetian-style mirror, round double bed and 360 degree breathtaking view of both the forest and rice terraces. While The Suite Tenda Ylang-Ylang ‘Blue Ortremare’ is an uber-elegant unit with custom-made canopy double bed, white armchair, logs of petrified wood, and luxurious bathroom, producing a refined atmosphere suitable for those who wish to enjoy great view in comfort from bed while relaxing.

Guests are encouraged to step out and enjoy the territory around Sandat Glamping. Some of Ubud’s art galleries are just a short bike ride away, as well as the majestic Royal Palace where shadow puppet shows are regularly performed. For a more energetic adventure, one can cycle one’s way to the foot of nearby Mount Batur or boost the adrenaline with some white-water rafting.
