The place is totally hidden from the main road, but as one drives into the circular sand area of the property it becomes obvious that one has arrived at somewhere special. Deceptive from the front but a full mind blowing vista awaits those who venture to the rear of this establishment. The green and scalloped landscape of Ubud fame spreads magnificent from the dining area. It doesn’t take much of a geographer to realize that the view to the West is going to produce some magical sunsets over paddies and palms.
So much for the view, let’s get on to the really good stuff. This is where The Sayan shows its true colours.
The menu here in influenced by various spices from around the world that are put together in an exquisite rainbow of taste.
No idle potluck in this kitchen! Do try the porcini royal soup consommé and then tell your friends. Thai style green curry fettuccine is a delicious cross-cultural marriage of Al Dente and Noy Quin. Perhaps the innovative sautéed foie grass nigiri will add another taste experience to the already tumbling magic of our planet’s seductive spices. On the other hand an Australian wagyu steak served with freshly grated wasabi may convince one that good taste comes from good ideas. And just to come back to earth how about oma’s apple pie served with homemade gelato.
