Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok retains its EarthCheck Certification for the fifth consecutive year in 2026, reaching Gold status under the program, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking and certification system for travel and tourism.

Gold status reflects four consecutive years of meeting EarthCheck’s rigorous environmental and social performance standards, spanning greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, water stewardship, land use, waste management, and ecosystem preservation. EarthCheck’s endorsement underscores the hotel’s sustained commitment to measurable and independently verified sustainability leadership.

Founded in 1987, EarthCheck supports tourism organizations in over 70 countries, guiding them through stringent environmental, socio-cultural, and economic performance standards. Members are required to monitor, report, and continually improve measurable indicators aligned with international benchmarks. Through independent audits and expert advisory support, EarthCheck ensures that certified organizations uphold a transparent, accountable, and community-focused approach to sustainability.
At Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, sustainability is integrated into the guest experience, architectural design, and operational philosophy.

The hotel outperforms regional leaders by 11.8% in water conservation and exceeds the regional average for energy efficiency by 11.6%. Rooftop solar panels harness Bangkok’s abundant sunshine to generate more than 255,000 kWh of clean energy annually, reducing reliance on the city’s power grid.
A circular approach guides waste management across the property. More than 22,000 kilograms of kitchen scraps and garden debris are composted on-site each year, transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich soil that sustains the hotel’s gardens. Over 5,000 kilograms of surplus food are rescued, providing more than 21,000 nutritious meals to local communities. The hotel also sanitizes and recycles 100 kilograms of used soap bars for redistribution, while responsibly recycling 2,316 kilograms of electronic devices according to strict environmental safety standards.
Across its restaurants and bars, single-use plastics are eliminated, and menus prioritize organic, locally grown ingredients that honor Thailand’s agricultural heritage. The hotel actively supports Thailand’s Royal Project by featuring locally sourced artisanal ingredients, reinforcing ethical farming practices and strengthening local communities.
“Sustaining EarthCheck Certification for five consecutive years and reaching Gold status reflects our long-term commitment to responsible hospitality,” said Thaddaeus Weiss, General Manager of Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. “At Sindhorn Kempinski, sustainability and well-being are intrinsically connected. From energy performance and water stewardship to mindful sourcing and community engagement, every decision is guided by our belief that refined luxury and environmental responsibility must coexist.”

Home to 274 spacious rooms and suites, four restaurants and bars, executive meeting facilities, and 4,000 square meters of integrated wellness spaces, Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok continues to align urban living with environmental stewardship. Achieving Gold status within the EarthCheck program reinforces the hotel’s position as a forward-thinking hospitality leader in Bangkok and the region.
