Weekend Vibes Begin at Meliá Chiang Mai’s TGIF Buffet Nights

Meliá Chiang Mai is welcoming the weekend in flavourful fashion with a lively TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) Dinner Buffet at Laan Na Kitchen. Designed to celebrate Friday nights in style, the special event brings together an indulgent spread of international favourites, interactive live cooking stations and vibrant market-style dining in the heart of the city this February and March. From premium carving stations to Japanese-inspired highlights and comforting Asian classics, the evening promises a relaxed yet festive start to the weekend, set against the restaurant’s striking design inspired by northern Thailand’s terraced rice fields.

The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Laan Na Kitchen will stage the spread on Friday February 27, 2026 and Friday March 27, 2026 from 6PM – 10PM.

Slow-roasted Picanha steak and pesto-crusted whole salmon at carving stations, grilled buttered scallop on the shell, and cooked-to-order spicy Ramyeon noodle soup with ingredients such as tofu, ham, sausage and cheese are among the highlights on offer.

Buffet favourites also include spicy marinated salmon, a sushi and sashimi platter, and a live cooking station offering Kaisendon, a warm short-grain rice bowl topped with salmon, tuna, tobiko, salmon roe, avocado and cucumber. A deep-fried corner offers crowd-pleasers such as custard buns, sweet potato, spring rolls, tofu, chicken nuggets and gyoza.

Desserts including Hokkaido milk ice-cream with a variety of toppings, and assorted mini pastries round out the occasion.

Laan Na Kitchen serves authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a lively market setting. The curving and flowing design of the restaurant’s cooking and serving stations and seating is inspired by northern Thailand’s spectacular terraced rice fields, making for a geometrical sight to behold. Other Thai touches include abstract artwork on the ceiling that references threshing baskets used to sift rice.

Drawing on Meliá’s Spanish origins and celebrating Spain’s famed gastronomy, Meliá Chiang Mai’s dining landscape features restaurants Mai Restaurant and Bar and Laan Na Kitchen, bars MAI The Sky Bar and Tien Pool Bar, and lounges Ruen Kaew and The Level Lounge; the latter a 21st-floor executive lounge with panoramic views of the city.
