From Sashimi to Tiramisu: Two Distinct Weekend Brunches to Try in Hong Kong

Weekend brunch is always a good excuse to slow down and enjoy a leisurely meal, and at The Hari Hong Kong, diners can choose between two very different culinary experiences under one roof. From classic Italian to contemporary Japanese cuisine, these weekend brunches offer something for every palate.

The Hari Hong Kong – Zoku

For those who enjoy Italian cuisine, Lucciola serves a weekend brunch centred on seasonal ingredients and classic Italian flavours. The brunch begins with a selection of antipasti before moving on to dishes such as sautéed black mussels with parsley and garlic, roasted lamb T-bone, and Lucciola’s signature tiramisu. Served in a dining room with warm amber and green tones, timber-lined walls and plenty of natural light, it’s a relaxed setting for a leisurely weekend meal.

A floor above, Zoku and the adjoining The Terrace offer a completely different brunch experience inspired by Japanese dining culture. Meaning “clan” in Japanese, Zoku is characterised by leather fluted booths and crimson velvet banquettes under an origami-inspired ceiling of angled timber slats. The Terrace, overlooking Wan Chai, provides an open-air setting framed by lush greenery and a striking triple-height living wall.

The brunch begins with “Otoshi: The Izakaya Way”, featuring a selection of Japanese snacks that introduce guests to a variety of flavours and textures. This is followed by an assorted sashimi platter showcasing seasonal seafood before diners choose from a selection of mains and desserts. Among the highlights are truffle Yaki soba and A-4 Miyazaki Wagyu steak, offering a balance of comforting favourites and premium ingredients. Guests can also upgrade to a newly extended two-hour free-flow package featuring Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne and premium sake for an additional charge.

Although the two brunches are available at The Hari Hong Kong, each has its own distinct character. Lucciola focuses on the comforting flavours of Italy, while Zoku brings together contemporary Japanese dishes with the lively spirit of an izakaya. This gives diners the opportunity to choose between two very different styles of weekend dining, depending on what they are craving.

“One of the things we love about our weekend brunches is that they offer two completely different experiences under the one roof,” said Francesco Gava, the hotel’s Director of Food & Beverage. “Some guests are drawn to the warmth and conviviality of our Italian brunch, yet others prefer contemporary Japanese flavours with sake at Zoku & The Terrace.”

Weekend brunch is available at Lucciola every Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, while Zoku and The Terrace serve brunch on Saturdays and public holidays. Both brunches are available from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm, with last orders at 2:30 pm. As the menus feature seasonal ingredients, dishes may change throughout the year, giving guests a fresh experience on every visit.
