Palace Hotel Tokyo Debuts Fashion-Inspired Stay Package

Palace Hotel Tokyo has launched a new stay package, Couture Tokyo: The Art of Japanese Fashion, offering guests an insider’s introduction to Japan’s fashion heritage through exclusive tours, dining and cultural experiences.

Part of the hotel’s “Best of Japan” series, the experience is centred on Japanese fashion and textile artistry, with a selection of privately guided tours curated by Kaori Nakano, a scholar of fashion and luxury culture.

The Couture Tokyo: The Art of Japanese Fashion package includes two-night accommodation, daily breakfast served either via In-Room Dining or at Grand Kitchen, a special kaiseki dinner at Wadakura inspired by fashion icon Kenzo Takada, an original Palace Hotel Tokyo tote bag by contemporary textile brand suzusan, a privately guided fashion tour (approximately three to four hours, including private car service), and a special gift from the featured brand on the selected tour.

Guests can choose from three guided itineraries showcasing different aspects of Tokyo’s fashion scene, each highlighting the history of its neighbourhood alongside exclusive experiences created in collaboration with leading Japanese brands.

Glitzy Ginza
One of Tokyo’s most iconic shopping districts, Ginza is renowned for its luxury boutiques and longstanding traditions of craftsmanship. The tour begins at Wako in the landmark Seiko House, where guests are introduced to Japanese design through fine jewellery, timepieces and fashion. Wako features an art gallery exhibiting works by both established and emerging Japanese artists. Guests can additionally visit Dover Street Market Ginza, where cutting-edge designer labels and contemporary streetwear provide a striking contrast to Ginza’s classic elegance.

Stylish Daikanyama
Known for its relaxed atmosphere and independent fashion scene, Daikanyama offers a different perspective on Japanese style. Guests visit the flagship boutique of Jun Ashida, one of Japan’s pioneers of prêt-à-porter, whose elegant designs have influenced the country’s fashion industry for decades. The itinerary continues with MIZEN TOKYO Atelier + Showroom, where traditional Japanese textile techniques are combined with a modern “Slow Fashion, Slow Luxury” philosophy.

Upscale Omotesando and Eclectic Ura-Harajuku
This tour explores the contrast between Omotesando’s luxury shopping boulevard and the creative streets of nearby Ura-Harajuku. Highlights include Kimono Yamato, where traditional kimono craftsmanship is reinterpreted for contemporary lifestyles, along with sister brands KIMONO ARCH and Y. & SONS, which present modern takes on classic Japanese attire. The itinerary also features Japanese brands including CFCL, known for its advanced 3D knitting technology, and PORTER, whose handcrafted bags showcase the meticulous workmanship of skilled Japanese artisans.

Guests may choose to be accompanied by a guide trained on the tours curated by Kaori Nakano or, for an additional charge, book a tour hosted by Nakano herself with an interpreter. A separately arranged half-day personalised tour is available for those wishing to explore beyond the featured itineraries.

The experience also includes a special kaiseki dinner at Wadakura featuring a shabu-shabu presentation that was a favourite of the late fashion designer Kenzo Takada during his stays at Palace Hotel Tokyo. The presentation is available upon request with advance notice.
